The University of Michigan-Dearborn Application Requirements

First-year undergraduate students should submit a virtual application, high school transcripts that reflect academic performance, a satisfactory GPA, SAT or ACT scores, and an English language proficiency test for non-native English speakers. Prospective students can submit applications through the Michigan-Dearborn portal or the Common App.

Graduate students should supply supplemental documents along with their application. Materials include official institutional transcripts, satisfactory GRE or GMAT scores, and TOEFL or IELTS scores. Some of the programs require additional documents such as a resume, a personal statement, letters of recommendation and a GPA.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Undergraduate students who are residents of the state of Michigan will pay $494 per credit hour. Non-residents of the state will pay $1020. Undergraduates who are residents of the state and taking more than 12 credit hours will pay $108 per credit hour and non-residents taking more than 12 credits will pay $190. All students must pay a $400 registration assessment fee.

Graduate and specialist students who are residents of the state of Michigan will pay $745 per credit hour and non-residents of the state will pay $1,315. Upperclass students who are residents of the state and taking more than nine credit hours will pay $425 per each credit. Students who are non-residents of the state will pay $855. Graduate and specialist students must pay a $400 registration fee. Many of the graduate and specialist programs have distinct tuition prices.

Doctorate students who are residents of the state of Michigan will pay a tuition of $745 while non-residents of the state will pay $1,315. Students who are taking more than 9 credit hours will pay $425, and non-residents will pay $855. The doctorate candidacy registration assessment fee is $400.
