Among the 226 undergraduate programs offered are bachelor’s of science degrees in Actuarial Science, Biology, Health Service Administration, Psychology, Nursing, and much more.  Bachelor’s of Arts degrees can be earned in Film, French, Criminal Justice (also offered as a BS), English, Advertising/Public Relations and more.

UCF offers master’s degree programs including an MS in Interactive Entertainment, an MA in History, an MS in Digital Forensics, and 200 more.  Doctoral programs number 73 and include disciplines from Biomedical Sciences to Texts and Technology, and everything in between.

Students interesting in attending the University of Central Florida as a conventional student would do well to tour the campus, meet professors, and sample campus life by attending an open house session. Open house sessions are scheduled at different times throughout the year, and prospective students must register for each event they wish to attend. Students who intend to live on-campus can attend an optional tour of the student housing areas at the end of the campus tour. If accepted at the University of Central Florida, students interested in campus housing should apply as soon as possible because space is limited.

In addition to being accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), many of University of Central Florida’s schools and degree programs have acquired additional accreditation. The university has myriad research partnerships in its medical programs that make it one of the finest in the country, allowing students to gain knowledge of cutting-edge technologies as they are developed – and in some cases to be the ones to develop the technologies.

University of Central Florida Admission Requirements

It’s clear the University of Central Florida is a great school, but the question is: who should apply? High school seniors or graduates who earned a dual enrollment credit or an associate of arts but haven’t completed 11 semester hours of college coursework or more after high school graduation can apply as a freshman, as well as high school graduates who were never enrolled in a college. To apply, prospective students should submit official high school or home-school transcript, official ACT or SAT scores, college transcripts if applicable, and official GED, CLEP, AP, AICE, and OEFL/IELTS scores if applicable. An application essay is strongly recommended but not required to apply to the University of Central Florida. Also, a $30 nonrefundable application fee is required when applying to the university.

The fall 2018 freshman class has an average SAT score of 1320, an average ACT score of 28.2, an average high school GPA of 4.08, and an ethnic minority enrollment of 45.8%. Obviously, these are not official guidelines, but having test scores and a GPA on-par with these numbers can dramatically increase a student’s chances of gaining admission to Central Florida University.

Currently, the cost of attending the University of Central Florida is $179.19 per credit hour for Florida residents and $383.86 per credit hour for out-of-state students. While most scholarships available to students attending the University of Central Florida are in the range of $1,000 to $2,500, there are many that offer aid up to $10,000 to qualifying students. Between grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study programs, nearly every student at the University of Central Florida receives one form of financial aid or another.
