Drury University offers its students three ways to enroll with classes available in traditional day classes, night classes, or online classes. Some of the most popular programs at Drury University include those in the biological and biomedical sciences, business, architecture, education, and psychology. The university has a student retention rate of more than 80 percent, which means first-year students are often eager to return to their studies for their second year of college. Those special programs include the University Honors program, the Recognition in Scientific Analysis program, and the Leadership Drury Certificate program. Students may also consider a wide selection of pre-professional programs that will prepare them for work in health care. Those programs include pre-dentistry, pre-optometry, pre-medicine, and pre-veterinary medicine. Many minors are also available across a wide selection of study topics, but some areas of concentration are only offered as minors. Some of those areas of concentration include Actuarial Science & Risk Management, Communication, Law & Society, Global & Transnational Studies, and Design in Society. Other programs have requirements such as choosing an area of concentration, which students in Secondary Education must do in order to gain their state teaching certification.

Graduate study options are available in four masters degrees and two certificate programs. Degree programs include a Master in Business Administration, Master in Education, Master of Arts in Communication, and a Master of Nonprofit & Civic Leadership. Certificate programs include a Nonprofit Leadership certificate and a Cybersecurity Leadership certificate. Students will complete their graduate degrees through the College of Graduate Studies. The university makes it easy for students to tailor their degrees to their personal interests by allowing students to choose their culminating capstone experience.

Many of the degrees available online require no time spent in a classroom, so students may complete their degrees from virtually anywhere they can access the internet. Some of the online degree options include a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science in History, and a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management. Students may also earn associate degrees on topics like Business Administration, English & Writing, Paralegal Studies, and Psychology. One of the benefits of earning a degree through Drury University’s online education option is that students can receive free online tutoring while they earn their degree. About Drury University

Established in 1873, Drury University was founded by a group of Congregationalist church missionaries. The school was originally known as Springfield College, but a gift from a generous benefactor named Samuel Drury led to the renaming of the university. The school originally covered just one-half acre but has grown to a campus of more than 40 acres. The private school is affiliated with the United Church of Christ Christian Church, and around 5,400 students attend the school in Springfield, Missouri, as well as through the university’s online educational portal. The school’s official colors are scarlet and gray, and students play as the Panthers on school sports teams. The school’s basketball teams have won several championships throughout the school’s history.

The regional accreditation organization for Drury University is the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, which is a division of the Higher Learning Commission. Degrees and departments within the university with programmatic accreditation include the program in music, which is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, Commission on Accreditation, and the teacher education programs, which are accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education. Drury University Application Requirements

Admission requirements for Drury University include a completed application online, delivery of the student’s high school transcripts to the university, and an official SAT or ACT score. Students must also write a personal essay or complete the essay requested on the official application. Students who want to attend the university as graduate students will also complete the official application form, as well as have official transcripts from all colleges attended delivered to Drury. Students must also provide two professional or academic references for their letters of recommendation, write a personal essay of 500 words, and submit any additional materials as required by the student’s chosen program. Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition at Drury University is based on the type of program a student attends. Traditional students who enroll in classes held on campus will pay $27,350 for tuition for 12 to 17 hours and $920 for all credit hours over 17. Meanwhile, graduate students will pay a rate based on the student’s chosen program. Master of Business Administration students will pay $699 per credit, Master of Education (MED) students will pay $359 per credit, and Master in Nonprofit & Civic Leadership will pay $462 per credit. Students will also pay a $7 technology fee. Students who enroll in evening classes will pay a rate of $252 per credit hour, and students who enroll in online classes will pay $308 per credit hour.

Since Drury University is an accredited school, students may apply and qualify for federal financial aid, as well as scholarships and grants from many sources.
