Brandman University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate degrees designed for the student who has never attended college as well as for those who want to advance their education to a higher level. Brandman offers more than 80 academic programs at over 25 campus locations, educating more than 10,000 students each year.

Undergraduate degrees are available in areas that include Arts & Sciences, Business & Professional Studies, Education, Nursing & Health Professions as well as extended education programs. Students may choose to work toward associate’s degrees or bachelor’s degrees.

The School of Arts & Sciences at Brandman University is designed for students who are searching for a program that nurtures and stimulates their intellectual growth. The school offers cross-disciplinary curricula in a wide range of fields. Students may choose to enter the field of social work, criminal justice or psychology. In addition, Brandman University offers undergraduate degrees in applied and liberal studies for those who want a more general field of undergraduate study. All programs are taught by scholar-practitioners and many of the faculty are experts in their field.

The School of Business & Professional Studies provides students with an understanding of leadership skills necessary in the business world. Students learn to solve complex problems and develop the skills necessary to advance their career. Programs are offered on campus, online or in a hybrid format. Brandman offers Organizational Leadership undergraduate degrees with concentrations in Organizational Administration and Supply Chain Systems. Students may also choose to enter:

The School of Education provides degree programs for those who wish to enter the teaching industry. Brandman helps students become the teacher that inspires others by providing them with information on current trends, the latest technology, and feedback to improve teaching methods.

The Marybelle and S. Paul Musco School of Nursing & Allied Health is for students with a desire to help others live happier, healthier lives. The program focuses on an ever-changing health profession, blending advanced technology with immersive learning. Undergraduate courses are taught by practicing RNs while graduate courses are taught by nationally certified, advanced practice RNs. Programs include three- to four-day immersion sessions in order to provide hands-on learning.

In addition to undergraduate degrees, Brandman offers 20 master’s degree programs in both online and on-campus formats. Students may choose a master’s in Counseling or in Education, Curriculum and Instructions. Educational masters are available with concentrations in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, Instructional Technology, Leadership in ECE as well as Teaching and Learning. Students may also earn their degree in Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, Social Work and many more.

Doctoral degrees are also offered at Brandman. Students may earn a doctorate as a Nurse Practitioner with concentrations in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care, Family Across the Lifespan, Psychiatric and Mental Health as well as a Post-Masters DNP. There is also an Ed.D program in Organizational Leadership. All nursing programs are offered in a hybrid format while the doctorate in Organizational Leadership may be taken completely online or as a hybrid program.

About Brandman University

Brandman University was established by Chapman University in 1958, originally to designed to serve those stationed at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station. The school was originally known as Chapman University College. In 2009, a donation from the Joyce and Saul Brandman Foundation resulted in the university’s name being changed to Brandman University. It is now a separate university from Chapman University.

Today, there are more than 10,000 students enrolled at Brandman University. The school still focuses on adult and non-traditional learners with a strong focus on providing education to the military. The school is consistently ranked highly by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best online schools for veterans and the publication ranks the school as one of the best in the country for all types of students.

Brandman University Accreditation Detail

Brandman University is accredited by the WSCUC Senior College and University Commission. The program is recognized by the United States Department of Education as a certifying institution for colleges and universities who accept federal financial assistance. The University agrees to periodic reviews to confirm that they continue to meet the criteria set forth by the accrediting agency and to address any areas the agency deems as needing improvement. Programs throughout the University are also accredited by industry-specific organizations including the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and the Council on Social Work Education.

Brandman University Application Requirements

Individuals who have not earned college credit after high school graduation are considered first-time students at Brandman University. They must complete an application and provide official high school transcripts. They must have a high school GPA of at least 2.0 and must be able to pass both English and math admissions tests. Students must also provide official SAT and ACT scores.

Students who have 12 or more transferable credits earned after high school graduation may be considered transfer students at Brandman University. They must provide transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Students with fewer than 12 transferable credits must also provide high school transcripts. Programs at the school may have additional admissions requirements. Students are encouraged to speak to an enrollment counselor before applying.

Graduate students must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher to apply for programs at Brandman University. They must submit an application and submit official GRE, GMAT, CSET or MAT scores. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities are required. Students must have a 3.0 GPA over the past 30 graded semesters.

Brandman University Tuition and Financial Aid

Tuition for undergraduate programs at Brandman University is $500 per credit hour. Master’s programs are $650 per credit hour. Doctorate of Education programs are $995 per credit hour while Doctorate of Nursing programs are $1,135 per credit hour.

Financial aid is available and students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to qualify. Students may qualify for grants, scholarships or work-study programs. Graduate students may qualify for fellowships and teaching assistant positions. Student loans are also available, both federally subsidized and private. It is important to remember that all loans must be repaid upon graduation.
