1. Sam Kotonias Memorial X-Ray Scholarship

Eligibility:

– Current college students

– From the Hibbing/Chisholm area of Minnesota

– Studying in the field of diagnostic imaging

The Sam Kotonias Memorial X-Ray Scholarship is a diagnostic imaging scholarship for students in Minnesota. It was started by the family of an X-ray technician who worked at Hibbing General Hospital, so preference will be given to those who live in the Hibbing/Chisholm area, but others are welcome to apply as well. You’ll need to submit transcripts, essay answers and two letters of recommendation. The scholarship is worth $1,000.

2. Intermountain Medical Imaging Scholarship

Eligibility:

– 3.0 GPA

– Graduated from high school in Idaho

– Interested in pursuing a career in healthcare

– Current high school senior or college freshman

Sponsored by Intermountain Medical Imaging, an outpatient imaging organization in Idaho, this scholarship is given to local students who want to enter the medical field. Despite the name, you don’t have to be an aspiring X-ray technician; you can also be pursuing a career as a doctor, nurse, physician assistant or radiology technologist. You’ll need to fill out an application and write a personal essay to qualify for the $1,000 scholarship.

3. Murray Medical Imaging Scholarship

Eligibility:

– Australia or New Zealand resident

– First- or second-year student in a medical imaging degree program

– Worked in a rural area for clinical placement

– Demonstrates financial need

The Murray Medical Imaging Scholarship is for students down under. It has stringent requirements, including a maximum income bracket and a limitation to those who are enrolled in a degree-seeking program for medical imaging, but the payout is $1,500 that can be spent on anything related to your education. Preference will be given to those who plan on working in a remote or rural area after their education is complete.

4. Mary Washington Hospital School of Radiologic Technology Virginia Medical Imaging Scholarship

Eligibility:

– 2.75 GPA

– Currently enrolled in the Mary Washington Hospital School of Radiologic Technology

The Mary Washington Hospital School of Radiologic Technology Virginia Medical Imaging Scholarship has a doozy of a name, but it’s a simple scholarship. It’s funded by the Mary Washington Hospital (MWH) network in Virginia and is open to any student who is pursuing a career as an X-ray or radiological imaging technician. Applicants will need to submit a letter of recommendation, write a two-page personal essay and send over both transcripts and financial aid documents.

5. Healthcare Foundation Radiologic/Medical Imaging Scholarship

Eligibility:

– 3.0 GPA

– Current college student

– Resident of La Porte, Indiana

– Enrolled in a degree program for medical imaging

Administered by the Healthcare Foundation of La Porte, this scholarship is meant specifically for students who are enrolled in either associate’s or bachelor’s degree programs. Acceptable programs include an A.S.S. in Radiologic Technology or a B.S. in Medical Imaging Technology. If you’re interested, the foundation also offers two other scholarships for La Porte residents who are studying in healthcare fields.

6. Bob Cassling Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility:

– Member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists

– Current radiology professionals

Sponsored by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, the Bob Cassling Memorial Scholarship is meant for medical imaging professionals who are seeking further advancement in their education or career. 7. Parsons Degree Achievement Scholarship

– Member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists

Funded by grants and donations from ASRT members, the Parsons Degree Achievement Scholarship is for students who are seeking either an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in radiology imaging. It offers $2,000 to eight students per year. Winners are chosen by a committee that looks at each application and weighs it based on academic performance, professional achievements, essay content, financial need and letters of recommendation.

– Member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists

– Holds an unrestricted state license

The Professional Advancement Scholarship has stricter criteria that some of the others on this list, but it’s definitely an X-ray technician scholarship worth pursuing. It pays $2,500 to six students per year and $1,200 to one student per year. Preference is given to those who are already licensed and active in the field of radiology. 9. Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarship

Eligibility:

– Member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists

– Seeking a certificate or degree in radiologic sciences

The Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarship is administered by Siemens Healthcare, a medical technology company based out of Germany. It offers several scholarships for U.S. students in the fields of radiology and clinical pathology. This particular grant is meant for those who are enrolled in degree or certification programs in radiology, and it awards $5,000 to four students per year. It’s part of an ongoing partnership between Siemens Healthcare and the ASRT.

10. Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarship

Eligibility:

– Racial minority

– Enrolled in an entry-level healthcare program

– Member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists

The Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarship is an equalizer for underrepresented students. It’s given to members of a racial minority group who are pursuing studies in radiology, sonography, radiation therapy, nuclear medicine or magnetic resonance. Applicants should be enrolled in an entry-level degree or certification program as opposed to a more advanced one. Five winners will receive a one-time payment of $4,000.
