According to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly 40% of people living in San Diego over the age of 25 hold bachelor’s degrees. As a result of the census, San Diego ranks as the 9th most educated city in the nation. Within a 120-mile radius, multiple public colleges and universities populate the landscape. Private institutions within the city limits include Point Loma Nazarene University and San Diego Christian College. To accommodate the education-driven people of San Diego, online degree programs are available at many of the city’s public and private universities.

Methodology

We reviewed a number of accredited colleges within 120 miles of San Diego, California. We narrowed our search by selecting schools that offered one or more online degree program. We then ranked the schools based on the rankings received from major publications like Forbes magazine and U.S. News and World Report. From our pool of schools, we selected the top 10 colleges for an online degree in San Diego. In many cases a college earned multiple rankings from U.S. News or other publications. Institutions with multiple rankings earned a higher placement on our list.

#10 – Alliant International University
