Two major universities, Oral Roberts University and the University of Tulsa, with sports teams at the NCAA Division 1 level, have helped bring a boost to Tulsa’s economic resources. Tulsa and nearby cities offer 15 institutions of higher education. Many local universities have online degree programs that make education convenient for working adults. Once dependent on the oil industry, Tulsa flourished until the economic downturn. The city was forced to diversify its economy in energy, finance, technology, and education.

We reviewed approximately 30 accredited colleges and universities in and near Tulsa, Oklahoma that offered at least one online degree program. From our list, we examined schools that earned rankings with major publications like Forbes magazine, The Princeton Review, and U.S. News and World Report. We pulled the top 10 institutions based on their national and regional rankings. School’s earning a national ranking were placed higher on our list than school’s with a regional ranking.
