Public Health is a rapidly growing field. If you are already working in this sector, you are aware of the many challenges as well as opportunities that are available, and perhaps you have considered earning an advanced degree. When you obtain a Master’s in Public Health, it will open the door to management and leadership positions, such as health care administrators, health and safety engineers, epidemiologists, and public health project managers.

A significant salary increase will likely come with the advanced degree. Here are a few salary examples one might expect after a year in the job: clinical research worker, from $38,000 to $51,500; health education worker, from $33,000 to $86,400; and biomedical laboratory worker, from $31,000 to $76,000. The projected jobs outlook is that by 2020 a quarter of a million more public health workers will be needed.

If you are concerned that you will be able to fit a return to college into your already busy schedule, consider earning your Master’s of Public Health at an online college or university. Online classes allow you to complete coursework at your own pace. The diploma you receive at graduation will be the same one that is given to students in the traditional school. Other online benefits may include discounted tuition rates to out of state students.
