Online on Blackboard starting in Spring 2020, the College of Health Sciences led by Dr. Michelle Hilaire will deliver a 30-credit, three-year M.S. in Nursing Education so part-time RN cohorts can complete 5000-level courses like Population Health and one practicum for CNE certification. Directed by Dr. Paul Dellenback, the Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering builds a 72-credit, ABET-accredited sequence where post-grads can conduct Composite Materials Lab research, join the Structural Engineering Institute, pledge Tau Beta Pi, and receive the Marinos Doctoral Fellowship in Fluid Mechanics.

About the University of Wyoming
The University of Wyoming originated on September 27, 1886, when ground was broken to build Old Main for the territory’s first higher learning institution four years before statehood. In 1887, John W. Hoyt welcomed an inaugural coed class of 42 to Laramie. In 1890, the University of Wyoming used Morrill Land-Grant Act funds to build agricultural programs. In 1918, UW formed the Student Army Training Corps for nearly 250 men. In 1945, UW created the 70,000-square-foot American Heritage Center. In 1954, William Robertson Coe donated $750,000 to renovate its original library. Four years later, King Zahir and Queen Homaira visited UW to establish an Afghanistan exchange program. In Fall 1963, President John F. Kennedy spoke at the University of Wyoming about his “New Frontier” efforts. In 1976, UW partnered with Casper College to develop a Central Wyoming branch.

On November 18, 2019, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA) has scheduled a comprehensive evaluation at the University of Wyoming to reaffirm its Level VI accreditation status for another 10 years under President Neil Theobald, Ph.D., who earned an Association of Education Finance and Policy Award. Located 1,007 miles east via Interstate 80 in Chicago, this mammoth 19-state Midwest Region accreditor is recognized by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and Wyoming Department of Education (WDE). University of Wyoming Application Requirements
Admission at the University of Wyoming is classified as “moderately difficult” by Peterson’s though 5,083 of the 5,293 Fall 2018 applicants were selected for high 96 percent acceptance. First-year Cowboys and Cowgirls must complete the 19-unit secondary success curriculum or the GED equivalent. The Dual Enrollment Option is reserved for Wyoming high school juniors and seniors maintaining minimum 2.0 GPAs. Degree-seeking freshmen need at least 3.0 GPAs and 21 ACT or 1060 SAT scores. The Class of 2022 presented average 3.48 GPA, 24 ACT, and 1165 SAT marks. Transfers are test-optional with 30+ collegiate credits and GPAs above 2.0. Foreign learners need at least 51 Duolingo, 6.0 IELTS, or 71 TOEFL iBT scores. The Graduate School requires an accredited four-year bachelor’s completion with 3.0 or greater GPAs. Master’s and doctoral entrants typically need composite GRE scores of 298 and higher. Master of Business Administration cohorts must exceed the 550 GMAT mark. College of Law students reports a median 151 LSAT score.
The University of Wyoming has convenient rolling admission for undergrad U.S. residents. International student deadlines are June 1st for Fall, November 1st for Spring, and April 1st for Summer starts. The Graduate School has general priority dates of January 15th and September 15th, but program deadlines vary. For instance, the M.S. in Health Services Administration closes on January 5th. Tuition and Financial Aid
For 2019-20, the University of Wyoming is charging in-state undergrads $2,084 each term or $4,170 annually. Non-resident bachelor’s tuition is $16,740 each year full-time.
